A Message from Our President

Hello to all of our great membership.  I hope this finds you all well and preparing for our Spring Conference in Myrtle Beach.

We as the Board have worked hard to make this coming conference a success.  I have a few things that I would like to announce and make all of you aware of.

First, we had an idea come up and I appointed 2nd VP James Jackson to chair a committee to work on it.  We are going to offer a “side bar” class to the conference this year that would target new inspectors.  This class will teach them how to start and complete inspections.  This is targeted at the Company Officer and under level.  It being the first year, we are going to have a limited number of participants that will be allowed to attend so that we can see how it goes.  More details will be posted on the website and coming from our Executive Administrator, Scott Keeley.

Second, our Director of Training, Ben Bunting has announced to the Board of his plans to retire.  With that, he will be finishing his duties as our Director of Training at the close of this Annual Conference in June.  Ben has been a leader, encourager, influence and instrumental to our association for many years.  He began the position of DOT in 1998.  He has worked hard, in a lot of trying times, to make the training beneficial to our needs. 

Next, our Director of Benefits, Danny McKinney has asked to step down from his position.  He has been the DOB for the last 10 years.  Danny has worked hard and did a great job.  He will remain active in the Association but wishes to be replaced in the current position.

With all of that said, we have several positions to fill this year on the Board.  The positions are Director of Training, Director of Benefits and the 2nd Vice President.  Please be thinking about this and asking yourself if it is time for you to step up.  If so, please remember to send your “Intentions to run” email or letter to our Executive Administrator, Scott Keeley, no later than 30 days prior to the start of the Annual Meeting that starts June 5, 2023.
